after a twisted, introduction full of warped vocals and shifting percussion, villain builds into a track designed to kill the rave. dropping into a wall of contorted, metallic bass and vicious drums, minor rain switches things up throughout, maintaining interest - as well as that infectious groove. on the flipside, main core shifts gears with a pulsing, submerged bass driving things forward. combining elements of tribal beats, programmed drums and a stuttering rhythm, main core is a great example of future funk musics ability to put out groundbreaking, forward-thinking music.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

corbu are an electronic, indie-rock band from brooklyn, new york spearheaded by producer and multi-instrumentalist jonathan graves. corbu are jonathan, todd hoellerman (drums, keys), amanda scott (synths, percussion), julian ferraldo (guitar, keys) and brian murphy (bass, keys). named after french architect le corbusier, the band has a strong creative aesthetic. graves writes the music from visual ideas, which he translates into sound. corbu songs are often heard partially or entirely in dreams, and are influenced by films, physical spaces and a childhood love of nature and science fiction. and it works. corbus music is beautifully crafted, taking the listener on a journey from day to night, through exhilarating sunsoaked sonic landscapes to land softly on the surface of the moon. jonathan began singing and playing different instruments at age nine, and eventually fell in love with samplers and their ability to bend conventional sounds into something abstract and new.

2013 was a good year for mr natalizia. breaking out of his musical (comfort) zone and touring schedule as one half of kompakt records stars walls, a deeper side to his music oeuvre was shown on the excellent not waving debut, umwelt, before then going on to compile the killer *mutazione* compilation of italian new wave 1980-1988 for strut records. spanning 9 tracks, *human capabilities* takes the sound of umwelt and the subsequent super limited cassette only reinterpretations of redacted and mixes harder percussive tracks alongside explorations of melody through ambient pieces that close each side.

we present the first new release of 2014 with hector sandoval as deaxmade (50% of the duo exium). the release is complete with two remixes by oscar mulero exploring dub territories and label owner valentin corujo aka kessell. the result is three members of the polegroup platform showing their ability to move around different styles of techno.

santorini comes back on out-er with a superb release! this ep is deeply oriented to house with broken beats patterns and techno infuences. the tracks are truly inspired from uk sounds, always preserving a dancefloor attitude thanks to their grooves and arrangements. they come from santorinis solid dance attitude. his renowned ability to combine concrete and abstract together brings this ep to be on the top of santorinis productions.
